Die Geschichte von RIEJU
Der Beginn
Im Jahr 1934 starteten zwei junge Geschäftsmänner, Luis Riera Carré und Jaime Juanola Farres ihr Abenteuer mit der Produktion von Fahrrad-Zubehör. Sie verbanden ihre Namen um die Marke RIEJU (RIera+JUanola) zu kreieren.
Der Beginn der Produktion
Der Vater von Salvador Dali, welcher Notar war, erstellte die Gründungsurkunde von RIERA Y JUANOLA, S.L. (RIEJU) im Jahr 1942. Das Grundkapital betrug 1 Million Pesetas. Man begann mit der Produktion und dem Verkauf von Fahhrad-Zubehör, und etwas später auch mit der Produktion von eigenen Fahrrädern.
Das erste Moped, die No. 1
Rieju´s erstes Produkt, welches man auch als "Moped" bezeichnen konnte, war die No.1 im Jahr 1947, es war ein Fahrrad mit einem 8cc 4-takt-Motor mit ca. 1 PS.
Das erste Motorrad
Im Jahr 1953 wurde die 175cc RIEJU (mit einem AMC 4t-Motor) vorgestellt. Ein sehr elegantes Modell mit schwarzem Lack und goldenen Streifen, ausgestattet mit einer Federung.
Italien kommt ins Spiel
Im Jahr 1960 begann Rieju eine lange und erfolgreiche Zusammenarbeit mit dem Motorenhersteller MOTORI MINARELLI, und wurde Importeur für Motoren und Ersatzteile von Minarelli in Spanien.
Der Wettbewerb beginnt
Im Jahr 1978 begann für Rieju eine lange und erfolgreiche Phase im Enduro-Wettkampf- Sport, in der 75cc Kategorie (insgesamt gewann Rieju 12 nationale Meisterschaften!)
50 Jahre RIEJU
Im Jahr 1992 feierte RIEJU sein 50-jähriges bestehen und präsentierte das Modell WINDY, ein Moped mit Variomatik und Helmfach.
Die RIEJU Drac
Im Jahr 1993 wurde ein weiteres Fahrzeug vorgestellt. Das Modell DRAC, ein Enduro-Moped, welches sich den Markt mit der RR teilte. Aufgrund einerPartnerschaft mit CASTROL Spanien wurde die RR Castrol vorgestellt.
RS1. Der Erfolg beginnt
Die RS1 Evolution wurde in 1998 vorgestellt. Sie war eine Revolution vor allem aufgrund ihrer Optik.
Perimeter Rahmen
Im Jahr 2001 wurde das Modell MRX, das erste Modell mit Perimeter-Rahmen Vorgestellt. Ausserdem bekam dieses Modell einen innovativen Racing-Look.
Die aktuellen Modelle
Nachdem RIEJU viele neue Modell wie z.B. die RS2 (2003)
und die RRX (2006) vorgestellt hat, kommt 2009 die neue "MRT"-Reihe auf den Markt, welche ein grosser Schritt in Richtung des High-performance-Segments ist.
Diese Modellreihe wird ebenfalls über einen Perimeter-Rahmen, einen starken Motor und viele andere Neuerungen verfügen.
The History of RIEJU
The early days
In 1934, two young businessmen, Luis Riera Carré and Jaime Juanola Farres, began their adventure by manufacturing bicycle accessories. They fused their names together to create the RIEJU-brand name (RIera+JUanola)
Vehicle manufacturing begins
Salvador Dali´s father, a notary, certified the creation of RIERA y JUANOLA S.L. (RIEJU) in 1942. The company was established as a limited company with a capital stock of 1 million Pesetas. They continued to manufacture and sell accessory components, and later they began to produce the first RIEJU bicycles.
The first motorcycle is born, the No. 1
Rieju´s first product in 1947 was what would be later called a "moped". It was a bicycle with an 38cc 4t auxiliary engine with 1 CV.
The first 100% RIEJU motorcycle
In 1953, the 175cc RIEJU (with AMC 4t-engine) was born. The model was black with gold lines on the finish and was equipped with a suspension system.
Italy and the moped
In 1960 RIEJU began a long and fruitful alliance with the Engine Manufacturer Motori Minarelli. Rieju became the exclusive importer of this brand of engines and parts in Spain.
Welcome to competition
In 1978, RIEJU began a successful adventure, participating in its first ever Spanish Enduro Championship in the 75cc category (RIEJU won total 12 national Championships in this category during its history!)
50th Anniversary
In 1992 RIEJU celebrated its 50th anniversary as a company. They celebrated this by introducing the new WINDY model, an automatic moped.
The RIEJU Drac
1993 saw the introduction of DRAC all-terrain 50cc moped, which shared the market with the RR 50. As a result of the partnership and collaboration with CASTROL Spain, the first CASTROL RR was introduced.
RS1. The beginning of success
The RS1 Evolution was introduced in 1998, which was a revolution due to its racing-look.
Perimeter chassis
In 2001, the MRX model with perimeter chassis was introduced. In the same year, and innovative off-road-look was added to the MRX model.
The actual models
After introducing many new models as RS2 (2003), RRX and Spike-X (2006), in 2009 RIEJU will introduce the new MRT-Line, which will be a big step into the high-performance segment.
The MRT line will have perimeter-frame, powerful engine and a lot of other high quality components.
